Korats are considered good luck symbols in their native Thailand. Korats are noted for their piercing, expressive eyes. A Korat is depicted in a book dating from the Renaissance called The Cat Book Poems, located in the National Library of Bangkok. King Rama V is considered to have named the Korat.
